Mr. & Mrs. Rogers are the Inventors of the Torpedo Surf Sinker, a married couple living in Rockwell, NC, with three grown children and four grandchildren. They are the owners of an alignment shop.

Mr. Rogers saw the need of a new sinker through a personal experience that would create a more pleasant adventure at the coast for the average fisherman as well as the experienced angler. He wanted a sinker that would allow any fisherman to cast his line farther from the shore, but would prevent the line from tangling once it reached the ocean floor.

Therefore, through much trial and error, the Torpedo was developed in sizes one through eight ounces. The sinker is in a wedge-shaped design allowing the sinker to cut through the wind while the anglers cast their lines farther from the shore where it would remain in place once sinking to the bottom of the ocean floor. Thus preventing an anglers line and bait from tangling in the tide and washing back ashore.

Fishing is a great American pastime-providing both relaxation and a challenge to the young and old alike. Across America there are millions of places to fish. In addition to the fun fishing provides, there is the enjoyment of a tasty catch. Fishing can involve the whole family, providing fun and thrills, encouraging the return to nature.

 Fishing takes us away from the work-a-day world and returns us to a more pleasurable experience. There are over 81 million “boomers” in the US , and their interest in the “back to nature” adventure using traditional family values could move them to purchase the Torpedo Sinker.

The Torpedo has been tested and measured by experienced fishermen using eleven and twelve foot rods.
